This is a website for the field of Ecosystem Management at Hokkaido University.
Our group aims at revealing the various structures and functions (wildlife habitats, water quality formation, wood production) of forest ecosystems, as well as integrated ecosystems (or landscapes) that include rivers and wetlands, and conducts research on the conservation of biota while respecting local endemism, in addition to ecosystem management plans and technology aiming for the use of resources in a nature-oriented way. We also conduct practical research on nature restoration. Click here for details.
Our group accepts applications from highly-motivated students interested in both basic and applied science. Applicants interested in our group as master’s and doctoral candidates should contact the instructor ahead of time. JSPS postdocs are also welcome. Anyone interested in our group is welcome to make a visit.
